Juke Gets Midnight Edition Option for 2013

In only two years Nissan has changed the crossover landscape with the introduction of the Nissan Juke. With 188 horses pumped out of a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine there is no doubt that this little crossover is not for the faint at heart.

With a car that is capable of ripping up the streets you would think that Nissan would want to try and keep it a little more stealth. For 2013 that is exactly what the motor company will be offering with the Midnight Edition.

What makes the Midnight Edition different?

The package will add:

-          17-inch black wheels…

Nissan Sets Down Special Stone to Celebrate New Mexico Manufacturing Plant

Auto brand Nissan certainly does understand how to successfully combine cultures! Recently, the Japanese automaker celebrated its newest manufacturing plant in Aguasalientes, Mexico, the second of its kind and the third total plant in the country, by setting down the first stone of the building in a ceremony that beautifully combined Japanese and Mexican cultures.

Bill Kreueger, Vice Chairman of Nissan Americas, explains the importance of the new plant, stating, "The new Aguascalientes complex underscores the objectives set forth by Nissan´s global strategy, Nissan Power 88, including a target global market share of 8 percent. The increase of manufacturing…

Nissan LEAF is Worlds Fastest Car in Reverse

If you are not familiar with the Nissan LEAF it was one of the first fully electric vehicles to hit dealers around the world. Then it became the first all electric vehicle to be available in all 50 states. Today, the Nissan LEAF will also be known as the fastest car in reverse.

That's right - stunt driver Terry Grant piloted the Nissan LEAF up the 1.16-mile Goodwood hill climb course in England in just one minute and thirty seven seconds - and he did it in reverse. To put this in perspective, when the LEAF completed the course in…

USAA Names Nissan Cube a Top-10 Choice for Teens

Attention parents of teenage drivers. If you're like most moms and dads looking for a car for your teen, you have three primary requisites:

1. It must be reliable? Getting stranded on the side of the road is absolutely not an option.
2. It must be extremely safe? Despite all of your lecturing on not talking or texting while driving, you remember breaking a few rules when you were their age.
3. It cannot cost a lot to insure? There's college tuition to save for.

Think it's impossible to find a car that meets all of these…

Nissan Frontier Dubbed #1 in Satisfaction for Compact Pickups

The Nissan Frontier has been a staple in Nissan's model lineup for some time now. Through all the years the Nissan Frontier has picked up some awards along the way, but in 2012 the compact pickup has locked down some impressive accolades. It was dubbed "Most Dependable Midsize Pickup" title from J.D. Powers, it made it on the Insure.com's "Top 20 Least Expensive Vehicles to Insure" and most recently Autobytel and AutoPacific have labeled it as the number one in satisfaction in the compact pickup category.

How did Autobytel and AutoPacific determine the Nissan Frontier leads…

2013 Nissan Altima, Influenced by the Competition?

2013 Nissan models, like the fully loaded Nissan Altima, take their inspiration from unlikely sources. When you see the updated Altima at Streater-Smith Nissan of Conroe, TX, it's apparent that this Japanese auto maker wanted to depart from previous Nissan Altima styling.

WardsAuto, a reviewer of automotive design, found out just exactly where Nissan's style ideas came from - North Korea. Surprised? Don't be, it's fairly common for car companies to share design ideas - especially if they sell.

"Clearly, we referenced the [another auto maker] when we were going through the design process," Nissan executive VP of…

Nissan Asks LEAF Owners to help Track Charging Stations

While the Nissan LEAF is an excellent choice for drivers who are looking to nearly eliminate their carbon footprint, there are a few setbacks that seem to be holding back many drivers from considering a battery-powered electric vehicle. Chief among them is the issue of charging. Unlike vehicles powered by conventional gasoline, electric cars need to be plugged in and charged.

So what's the problem here? Charging takes time, and charging stations can be a bit of a headache to locate. Of course, like any problem it faces, Nissan is working hard to develop a solution that will help…

Nissan Tweaks the LEAF for European Drivers

Nissan recently announced that production of their pioneering EV, the LEAF, would be moving their Smyrna, Tennessee plant. This is the very same plant where workers  turn out 550,000 vehicles each year - including the Nissan Altima and Pathfinder, among others. And while we're pretty excited to see production move a bit closer to home, we've also heard a rumor that European drivers will enjoy many of the same benefits of a move such as this.

Until now, the LEAF has only been produced in Nissan's plant in Oppama, Japan. From there, it's shipped out around…
